Star Cineplex to release Japanese anime film ‘Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc’
After the massive success of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle", Star Cineplex is bringing another major Japanese anime film to Bangladesh — "Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc".
"The Demon Slayer" movie, released earlier this year, shattered box office records by earning $10 billion in its opening week, becoming the fastest Japanese film to reach that milestone. The film also drew overwhelming audiences in Bangladesh, with packed screenings at Star Cineplex since its release last month.
Building on that success, the theatre chain has announced that "Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc", a dark fantasy action film based on Tatsuki Fujimoto's popular manga series, will hit Bangladeshi theatres on October 24, the same day as its international release, including in the United States.
Directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara—who previously served as the action director for the first season and helmed the fourth and tenth episodes—the movie opened in Japan on September 19 and has dominated the box office for four consecutive weeks, earning nearly $1 billion in its first week alone.
The film explores themes of love, betrayal, and identity, following the story of Denji, who joins a demon-hunting organisation after transforming into the titular Chainsaw Man. His life takes a dramatic turn when he meets Reze, a mysterious café worker whose romantic connection with him soon unravels into chaos as her dark secrets are revealed. What begins as a tender love story spirals into an epic conflict between humanity and monstrous forces.
Given the film's international hype and early success, Star Cineplex officials say Bangladeshi fans have already started inquiring about advance tickets. However, due to intense action sequences and mature themes, the film is not recommended for children or young teens.
With "Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc", Star Cineplex continues to expand its offerings for anime enthusiasts, ensuring that Bangladeshi experience the latest global cinematic phenomena alongside the rest of the world.
