Star Cineplex celebrates ‘Humayun Ahmed Week’ with four classic films
To commemorate the 77th birth anniversary of noted author and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed on November 13, Star Cineplex has announced a special celebration titled "Humayun Ahmed Week", running from November 7 to 13.
According to a press release, four of Humayun Ahmed's most popular films — "Amar Ache Jol", "Ghetuputra Komola", "Noy Number Bipod Sanket", and "Daruchini Dip" — will be screened throughout the week.
The films will be shown across Star Cineplex branches at Shimanto Shambhar, Sony Square, and the Bangladesh Army Museum. During this period, visitors can enjoy a special "Buy One, Get One Free" ticket offer.
Mesbah Uddin Ahmed, AGM of Media and Marketing at Star Cineplex, said, "Humayun Ahmed is a magical name in our cultural sphere. His popularity across literature, television, and cinema is truly remarkable. Even after his passing, he continues to live on in the hearts of millions. Many of his films were released and premiered at our Cineplex, and this celebration is our way of expressing love and gratitude toward him. Based on Humayun Ahmed's novel, "Daruchini Dip" was directed by Toukir Ahmed and released in 2007, featuring Riaz, Momo, Emon, Bindu, Munmun, and Mosharraf Karim, among others.
"Noy Number Bipod Sanket", released the same year, starred Asaduzzaman Noor, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Tania Ahmed, Diti, and Faruk Ahmed.
The 2008 release "Amar Ache Jol" featured Ferdous, Bidya Sinha Mim, Zahid Hasan, and Meher Afroz Shaon.
Humayun Ahmed's final directorial work, "Ghetuputra Komola", released in 2012, starred Tariq Anam Khan, Munmun Ahmed, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Mamun, and Shamima Nazneen.
