13 charged with Rajon murder

Police today submitted the charge sheet of Rajon murder case in Sylhet, accusing 13 people.

Suranjit Talukdar, Detective Branch inspector of Sylhet Metropolitan Police and the investigation officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1 around 5:00pm, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent.

The 13-year-old boy, Samiul Islam Rajon died of brain haemorrhage after a group of brutes beat him up in Kumargaon Bus Stand area in Sylhet on July 8 apparently to punish him for stealing. The body bore as many as 64 injury marks according to the autopsy report.

As of August 12, locals in Sylhet captured 12 accused and handed them over to the police.

Meanwhile, the government has been trying to bring back Kamrul Islam, one of the main accused in the killing case, from Saudi Arabia.
