Bangladeshi couple drowns in Australia after jumping into sea to save daughter

A Bangladeshi couple tragically drowned in Australia after jumping into the sea to save their infant daughter.
The incident occurred yesterday at a beach in Perth, casting a shadow of grief over the local Bangladeshi community.
According to police and media reports, the couple had gone to Walpole beach with family and friends during the Christmas holidays. While enjoying on the beach, they were unaware of the sea's changing tides.
A sudden wave swept away their infant daughter, Sianna when the parents, Shahidul Hasan Swapan and Sabrina Ahmed Papri, immediately jumped into the deep water to rescue her.
Although they successfully saved their daughter, they could not save themselves. Local police later recovered their bodies from the sea.
The couple's bodies are scheduled to be handed over to family today.
Shahidul, an associate professor in the Department of Urban Planning at Curtin University, Perth, had completed his PhD at the same institution. Both he and his wife were alumni of Khulna University's Urban and Regional Planning (URP) department.
This tragedy follows a similar incident in April, when another Bangladeshi, Newaz Mohammad Saifullah, drowned in Australia.
