337 more heading home from Yemen
A total of 337 stranded Bangladeshis have headed for home after evacuation from the war-torn country of Yemen.
They boarded two Indian ships at 9:00am Bangladesh time, SM Mahbubul Alam, counsellor to Bangladesh mission in Kuwait told The Daily Star today.
They will reach Kerala on April 18 and will then fly to Bangladesh later, he said.
The Bangladeshis were evacuated from Yemen into the African country of Djibouti. It is from there that they boarded the ships home at 5:00am local time today.
Meanwhile, Indian high commission, today tweeted that 336 Bangladeshis were being transported on ships MV Corals and Kavaratti and they are likely to reach Cochin on April 17 or 18.
Mahbubul Alam is currently in Djibouti supervising the evacuation of Bangladeshis taken there and others who are still being relocated from Yemen.
Twenty-one Bangladeshis have been already brought back home from Yemen.
