Dhaka University (DU) celebrated Korean Cultural Day 2025 on August 17. Organised by KOICA Bangladesh Office, the Institute of Modern Languages, and the Department of Organization Strategy and Leadership, the event celebrated international understanding through shared traditions and lively interactions.

The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Treasurer of DU, who expressed optimism about deepening cultural ties between Bangladesh and South Korea.

Distinguished guests included Jihoon Kim, Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh. Also present were Prof. Dr Mahmud Osman Imam, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies; Prof. Mohammad Absar Kamal, Director of the Institute of Modern Languages; and Nasima Begum, member of the KOICA Alumni Association. Each guest emphasised the importance of cultural exchange in global collaboration.

Throughout the day, students and visitors enjoyed a vibrant array of experiences, dressing in traditional Korean attire for photo sessions, joining cultural games, and savouring authentic Korean cuisine. Exhibition booths offered art, crafts, and culinary delights, while a video interview with a WFK volunteer added a personal touch to the story of Korean heritage.

A standout moment was students coming together to take anti-corruption pledges, reflecting KOICA's commitment to values beyond cultural festivities. The closing ceremony captured the festive spirit and left participants with memorable experiences.

Korean Cultural Day 2025 illuminated the campus with music, food, and shared moments, weaving connections that bridge cultures and nurture a spirit of harmony at the university.
