Bankers Forum Bashundhara hosts Members’ Day 2026

The "Members' Day – 2026 and Reception of New Leaders of the Banking Sector," organised by Bankers Forum Bashundhara, was held on January 3, 2026, at the Cadet College Club Ltd. in Purbachal Model Town. The event aimed to strengthen professional bonds, fraternity, and cooperation among members of the banking community.

The programme was graced by Mohammed Nurul Amin, former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NCC Bank PLC and Meghna Bank PLC, and former President of the Association of Bankers, Bangladesh, as Chief Guest.

Welcome remarks and a guiding discussion were delivered by Khondaker Morshed Millat, outgoing President of Bankers Forum Bashundhara. Speeches were also given by Md. Tareq Uddin, outgoing General Secretary; Md. Zahid Hossain, newly elected President; and A. K. Mojibur Rahman, newly elected General Secretary. Speakers underscored the importance of unity, mutual cooperation, and future initiatives of the forum.

Seven newly appointed leaders of the banking sector were formally honoured for their recent professional achievements. They included Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director & CEO of BRAC Bank PLC; Alamgir Hossain, Managing Director & CEO of Citizens Bank PLC; S. M. Mainul Kabir, Managing Director & CEO of SBAC Bank PLC; Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of The Community Bank PLC; Sayed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director of BRAC Bank PLC; K. M. Awalad Hossain, Additional Managing Director of Bengal Commercial Bank PLC; and A. K. M. Ramizul Islam, Director of Bangladesh Bank.

Members of the Advisory Council present included Md. Abdur Rahim, former Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, and Arfan Ali, former President and Managing Director of Bank Asia PLC.

Speakers noted that Bankers Forum Bashundhara serves not only as a professional platform but also as a social and family-oriented forum that promotes shared values, cooperation, and mutual respect among bankers. The day-long programme featured networking, knowledge sharing, and recreational activities. JCX Developments Limited was the key sponsor of the event.

Organisers said the forum would continue such initiatives to foster unity, leadership development, and collaboration within the banking sector in the coming years.
