Schools, colleges may reopen after Eid-ul-Fitr: Dipu Moni
In-person classes at all schools and colleges across the country may resume after Eid-ul-Fitr if the surge in coronavirus cases continues, Education Minister Dipu Moni said today.
The closure of the primary, secondary, higher secondary-level institutions is likely to be extended till the Eid holiday in coordination with the closure of universities, the minister said.
The decision will be taken after a meeting with National Technical Advisory Committee on coronavirus and the final decision will be made public by tomorrow, she said.
Dipu Moni was talking to reporters after attending a discussion organised marking Genocide Day at Bangabandhu Avenue.
After a year of closure due to the pandemic, and significant academic losses, the government on February 27 announced that all schools and colleges will be reopening on March 30.
All school teachers and employees were asked to be vaccinated before resuming the classes.
