30 hurt in BCL infighting at HSTU

At least 30 students of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU) were injured after two factions of Chhatra League clashed over establishing supremacy on the campus on last night.

Seven of the injured were admitted at M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital.

A large number of police were deployed in and around the campus.

According to university sources, there was tension on the campus for last couple of days between Reyad and Akash groups of BCL.

Both groups locked in clash last evening which continued till 11:30pm, leaving 30 students injured.

During the clash several rooms of Zia Hall were vandalised.

Seven of the injured were taken to M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital for treatment, said Dr Mamunur Rashid, the proctor of the university.
