22 more Bangladeshis return from India through Darshana check-point

Twenty-two more Bangladeshis, who went to India for medical treatment and got stuck there due to travel embargo, returned home through Darshana check-point in Chuadanga yesterday evening.

They crossed the border with the no objection certificates (NOC) from Bangladesh mission in Kolkata, said Sub-inspector Abdul Alim, immigration in-charge of Darshana Joynagar check-point.  

Monira Parven, additional deputy commissioner and a convener of coronavirus-related sub-committee, said upon arrival, antigen tests were conducted on them but no one tested positive.

Among them 20 were sent for 14-day mandatory institutional quarantine to the district's Technical Training Centre while two others to a local hotel, reports our Kushtia correspondent quoting the official.

With them, 778 Bangladeshis returned from India through the border in last 25 days. Of them, 16 were diagnosed with Covid-19, said Monira Parven.

Total 415 of them were discharged from different quarantine centres so far, she added.
