Security guard dies after falling from factory roof while lowering national flag in Gazipur
A security guard died after falling from a factory roof while lowering the national flag at Target Denim and Casual Wear Limited in Gazipur city last night.
The deceased was identified as Jahidul Islam, 50, from Naojor area of the city. He was the son of Anjub Ali from Moulvibazar.
According to factory sources, Jahidul was going to the roof to lower the flag when he reportedly became dizzy and lost balance, falling to the ground and sustaining critical injuries. He was rushed to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The factory's admin manager, Rafiqul Islam, said, "One of our security guards fell ill while on duty and collapsed. He died on the way to the hospital."
Harun Or Rashid, officer-in-charge of Basan Police Station, said Jahidul lost consciousness and fell from the roof on the night of December 16. The OC added, "The victim's wife, Afroza Akhter, has filed a case with Basan Police Station," and police are investigating the incident.
