The program, designed to promote learning among children at the pre-primary and primary levels in the areas of literacy, numeracy, health, nutrition, safety, environment, gender equity, social responsibility, mutual respect, and diversity, began its journey in 2005 with support from the American people through USAID.

BTRC and 'Sisimpur' join forces to promote safe internet practices for children

To foster a safer online environment for children, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has teamed up with Sesame Workshop Bangladesh (SWB), the creators of the beloved children's educational show “Sisimpur”. The collaboration aims to raise awareness about the safe use of the internet for educational purposes and to promote internet safety among children and parents alike.

‘Sisimpur’ season 16 to hit screens soon

The much-anticipated programme will introduce a new character, Ameera, who is a witty inquisitive 8-year-old girl with a passion for science and basketball. Ameera is also a person with a disability and will use a pair of crutches and a wheelchair whenever she is interacting with the group. She is everyone’s favourite comedian, and her great sense of humour serves her well as a natural leader who encourages others with her bright personality.

‘Sisimpur’ secures Anthem Award following Kidscreen Award

“Sisimpur”, the popular children’s programme for Bangladeshi children won the internationally acclaimed 3rd Anthem Award under the category of “Film, Video, Television or Show”. Through messages of diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI), “Sisimpur” has played a significant role in bringing about transformative changes in society, earning this prestigious award.

Sisimpur Workshop has embarked on a new initiative aimed at fostering safe road practices amongst students in Dhaka. Using entertaining mediums, Sisimpur intends to create various educational and awareness-building videos suitable for children to cultivate safe road-crossing practices. Additionally, diverse promotional activities on this subject are set to be carried out.

Three UNESCO heritage sites of Bangladesh to be highlighted by ‘Sisimpur’

UNESCO and Sesame Workshop have come together to create a video documentary on three world heritage sites of Bangladesh, namely: The Mosque City of Bagerhat, Sundarbans, and Paharpur’s Buddhist monastery. Today at the UNESCO Dhaka Office, Dr Susan Vize, Officer-in-Charge of UNESCO Dhaka and Mohammad Shah Alam, Country Managing Director of Sesame Workshop signed an agreement concerning this joint initiative.
