Hamza Choudhury was overwhelmed by his 'long time coming' homecoming to Bangladesh and said he is optimistic about starting his Bangladesh career with a win over India.

"It feels incredible. My heart is pumped," Hamza told the media in front of the Sylhet Osmani International Airport at around 1:00 pm today.

Hamza was beaming in his brief media interaction while hundreds of fans kept chanting his name and calling out to him.

"Amazing, amazing. A long time coming. Excited to be here," Hamza said about how it felt to be back in Bangladesh.

Amidst the chaos, Hamza could answer only a few questions where he expressed optimism about what lies ahead for him with the Bangladesh national team.

Hamza will make his Bangladesh debut against India in the Asian Cup Qualifiers in Shillong on March 25 and hopes to mark his new beginning with a victory.

"Inshallah, we will win. I've spoken with coach Javier [Cabrera] about many things. Inshallah, we will win and progress," Hamza said in his Sylheti dialect.

Hamza is expected to spend two days in his ancestral home in Snanghat village of Bahubal Upazila, Habiganj before joining the Bangladesh team.
