Tigers turn to West Indies after Afghanistan whitewash

After a humiliating 3-0 ODI series whitewash against Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi, the Tigers will now shift their focus to the upcoming home series against the West Indies.
The first batch of the Bangladesh team has already arrived in the capital, with the second batch expected at 11 pm. The Caribbean side, set to play six white-ball fixtures against Bangladesh, has also reached the city for the series.
Bangladesh is yet to announce the squad for the three-match ODI series, but it is all but confirmed that Litton Das will miss the ODIs starting October 18 in Mirpur, Dhaka, as the wicketkeeper-batter continues to recover from a left-side strain.

The 31-year-old has been sidelined for nearly a month after sustaining the injury during a practice session ahead of Bangladesh's Asia Cup T20 Super Four clash against India in Dubai last month. He missed crucial Asia Cup matches against India and Pakistan, followed by the T20I and ODI series against Afghanistan.
The ODI matches will begin at 1:30 pm at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, while the T20Is will start at 6:00 pm at the Bir Shrestha Shahid Flight Lieutenant Motiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram. The West Indies team is scheduled to depart Bangladesh on November 1.
The two sides have not played a T20 series in Bangladesh since December 2018, and their last ODI series in the country was held in January 2021.
