Gulshan, Sheltech maintain winning run in Women’s DPL

Sheltech Cricket Club maintained their winning run in the Women's Dhaka Premier League with a 219-run win over Bangladesh Police Cricket Club at BKSP's Ground 1 today.
Openers Sarmin Sultana and Ishma Tanjim provided a solid start with a 93-run stand before the latter departed on 46. Sumaiya Akter and Sarmin then took charge of the innings, putting up a 162-run third-wicket stand to help Sheltech towards a big total.
Sumaiya Akter hit an unbeaten 96-ball 111 while opener Sarmin Sultana missed out on a ton, falling for a 126-ball 97 for Sheltech. Skipper Nigar Sultana Joty's cameo 25-ball 35 at the death helped Sheltech to 312 for three.
In reply, Bangladesh Police were skittled out for just 93 as left-arm wrist-spinner Jannatul Ferdous picked up six for 24 to help her side to a big-margin win.
Gulshan Youth Club meanwhile picked up their fourth win in as many matches with a five-wicket win over Abahani Limited at BKSP's Ground 3.
Batting first, Abahani banked on Farzana Haque Pinky's 66 and Jannatul Ferdous's 114-ball 97 to reach 230 for 8. Spinner Rabeya Khan picked up three for 32 for Gulshan.
Gulshan's top and middle-order batters contributed to pick up a five-wicket win with Nusrat Jahan scoring a 64-ball 42 while Ritu Moni struck an unbeaten 61-ball 64 to help her side over the ropes.
Mohammedan upstaged Bangladesh Ansar & VDP with thumping 182-run win in the game at ULAB Cricket Ground, thanks to a smashing ton from Indian opener Jasia Akhter.
Jasia blazed to a 92-ball 132, laced with 13 fours and eight sixes to set Mohammedan on course for a big score. Sharmin Supta's 41 and Rumana Ahmed's 45 along with Aysha Rahman's 26-ball 32 helped Mohammedan to 333 for 7.
In reply, Bangladesh Ansar managed to play out 49.1 overs, bowled out for 151. Skipper Salma Khatun bagged four for 12 runs in 10 overs while Rumana Ahmed scalped three for 23 for Mohammedan.
At BKSP's Ground 4, Mst Eva struck a 63-ball 69 while Sadia Akter remained unbeaten on 71 as BKSP put on 261 for 7 against Kalabagan Krira Chakra.
In reply, Kalabagan were restricted to 138 for 8. Otoshi Mojumder was the pick of the bowlers for BKSP, bagging three for 25.
