Two coaches of Egarosindur Express detach from moving train on Tongi–Bhairab line
Two rear coaches of the Dhaka-bound Egarosindur Express from Kishoreganj's Bhairab, suddenly detached from the moving train near Pubail railway station in Gazipur today.
No casualties were reported in the incident, police said.
The incident occurred around 11:00am on the Tongi–Bhairab railway line, just before the train entered Pubail railway station.
Following the separation, railway officials and employees rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Manik Mia, station master of Arikhla Railway Station on the Tongi–Bhairab railway line, said the coaches detached after the joints of the two rear coaches opened.
When asked whether train movement on the route was normal, he said details would be provided later.
Police Inspector Nazim Uddin, in charge of the Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost, said, "The incident of the bogie separation is being investigated."
