A total of 210 flights scheduled to operate to and from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka have been cancelled in the last six days since February 28 -- the day the US and Israel carried out attacks on Iran -- amid a worsening security situation in the Middle East.

Of the total flights, 34 were cancelled today, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh said in a release.

On February 28, several Middle Eastern countries -- including Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan -- closed their airspace following the escalation, disrupting international flight operations.

These included four flights of Qatar Airways (QR) to and from Qatar, four of Kuwait Airways (KU), four of Jazeera Airways (J9), 10 of Air Arabia (G9) operating to and from Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, four of Emirates (EK), two of US-Bangla Airlines (BS), two of Gulf Air (GF) operating to and from Bahrain, and four of flydubai (FZ) operating to and from the United Arab Emirates.
