Chhatra Dal, left-leaning alliance announce panels for JnUcsu polls
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) as well as the alliance of nine left-leaning organisations today announced separate panels for the upcoming Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUcsu) election.
The JCD-backed panel was named "Oikyoboddho Nirbhik Jobian," while the alliance's joint panel was called "Maulana Bhashani Brigade."
Central JCD President Rakibul Islam announced the JCD-backed panel around 1:00pm at the university's Language Martyr Rafiq Building.
It fielded JnU Chhatra Odhikar Parishad President AKM Rakib for the vice-president (VP) post and JnU Chhatra Dal Joint Convener Khadijatul Kubra for the general secretary (GS) post.
The 21-member panel nominated BM Atikur Rahman Tanzil for the post of assistant general secretary, Anik Kumar Das for Liberation War and democracy affairs secretary, Nusrat Chowdhury Zafrin for education and research secretary, Md Masfikul Islam for science and technology secretary, Al Shahriar Shawon for health and environment secretary, Arghya Sreshtho Das for law and human rights secretary, Apu Munshi for international affairs secretary, Takrim Ahmed for literature and culture secretary, Md Kamrul Hasan Nafis for sports secretary, Mahid Hasan for transport secretary, Md Anan Bin Rahman for social service and student welfare secretary, and Riasal Rakib for library and seminar secretary.
Of the seven executive member posts, six names were announced. They are: Imran Hasan Imon, Sadman Sammo, Sultan Mahmud Shubho, Moniruzzaman Monir, Towhidul Islam Tamim, and Ariful Islam Arif.
"Maulana Bhashani Brigade" panel was announced by JnU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra Front General Secretary Shamsul Alam Maruf at a press conference at Language Martyr Rafiq Building.
In the panel, Gourab Bhoumik, president of the JnU unit Udichi Shilpi Gosthi, has been nominated for the VP post, while Evan Tahsib, president of JnU Chhatra Front, has been nominated for the GS post.
The 21-member panel includes Shamsul Alam Maruf for the post of assistant general secretary, Khijir Al Sifat for Liberation War and democracy affairs secretary, Moshiur Rahman Bhuiyan for education and research secretary, Riyad Hossain for science and technology secretary, Nu Mang Pra Marma for health and environment secretary, Afika Lebin Moumi for law and human rights secretary, Joan of Arc Sukannya for international affairs secretary, Salman Sayak for literature and culture secretary, Mugdho Anon for sports secretary, Mohammad Mahin for transport secretary, Amrin Jahan Opi for social service secretary and Sayyedah Mubashshira for library and seminar secretary.
The seven executive member candidates of the panel are: Sumaiya Abedin Ritika, Tajwar Islam, Sagnika Chakraborty, Rowd Muqtadir, Shahriar Adiv, Ritika (Risi Zafrat) and Pallab Kumar.
The alliance consists of Chhatra Front, Chhatra Union, Chhatra Moitri, Udichi, Sangskritik Kendro, Rastrochinta, Chintak, Band Music Association, and JnU Rangabhumi.
JnUcsu election 2025 is scheduled to be held on December 22.
