A Dhaka court today granted bail to three officials of Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific and Toyota Tsusho Corporation in a case filed over alleged breach of trust, fraud, and conspiracy to harm the business interests of Navana Limited.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam passed the order after Vice‑President of Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific, Akio Ogawa; General Manager, Mobility Division of Toyota Tsusho Asia Pacific, Premmit Singh; and General Manager of Toyota Tsusho Corporation, Asif Rahman appeared before the court and sought bail.

The case was filed on July 9, 2025 by Navana Limited Chairman Shafiul Islam under sections 406, 417, and 34 of the Penal Code.

Following a four‑month probe, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Inspector Syed Sajedur Rahman submitted a report on December 8, 2025, accusing the three of criminal breach of trust and cheating.

According to the report, the accused allegedly conspired to secretly register a company named Toyota Bangladesh Limited to conduct business independently with Toyota Tsusho Corporation, aiming to cancel Navana’s existing business ties.

"The accused misrepresented all the letters of Navana Company and provided letters containing untrue information, thereby misleading Toyota Tsusho Corporation and causing serious damage to Navana Company by mentioning the breach of contract regarding Navana Company," said the report.
