Man arrested in Cox’s Bazar for sexually assaulting American woman

A man was arrested for sexually assaulting an American woman in Cox's Bazar today.
The incident occurred around 10:00am on Monday at the Circuit House Road in the municipal area, confirmed Cox's Bazar Superintendent of Police Saifuddin Shahin.
According to police, the US citizen was walking along Circuit House Road with her female colleague, when a man identified as Tarek-ur-Rahman, also known as Soilya Tarek (30), blocked her path and grabbed her.
He then assaulted her by touching various parts of her body, the superintendent said.
The woman later reported the incident to police, who arrested Tarek around 4:00pm from the town's Jhawtola area, he added.
The arrestee Tarek is the son of Mohammad Farid from Mohajer Para in Cox's Bazar. He has multiple cases against him, including charges related to child rape, the SP added.
SP Saifuddin said that investigation is ongoing in this regard.
