Amid heightened concerns over the fire, authorities have restricted entry to the Dhaka airport terminal, allowing only passengers inside.

Ansar and APBn members on duty at the airport gate told The Daily Star that authorities had instructed them to allow only passengers to enter the terminal.

Many passengers at the airport are anxious and uncertain about their flights. Several passengers, including those flying abroad tonight, expressed frustration over lack of clarity and support.

Many said that after contacting the respective airlines, they were told to come to the airport and that their flights would take off, although no specific time was given.

Hussain Ali, who came from Jashore, arrived at the airport with three pieces of luggage and seven family members. He is scheduled to fly abroad on a US-Bangla flight at 10:25pm tonight.

He was informed at the gate that only he would be allowed to enter, not his relatives.

Before entering, he told The Daily Star, "I don't know how I'll manage all these luggage by myself."

"I'm really anxious about the whole thing," he added. "Can they put out the fire? Will the flight really take off? How many hours will I have to wait?"

Azizul Haq, another outbound passenger from Noakhali, is scheduled to fly to Dubai at 9:30pm.
