Rail communication between Khulna and other parts of the country was restored after a two-hour suspension following a train derailment at Jashore Railway Junction.

A compartment of the Mongla-bound Betna Express from Benapole derailed around 9:15am while entering the Jashore junction.

Upon receiving the information, a railway rescue team promptly began operations.

Benapole Railway Station Assistant Station Master Hasina Hasan said the derailed coach was detached, and the train departed for Mongla with the remaining coaches around 11:30am.

Later, after the derailed coach was removed, train movement on the affected tracks resumed.

Passengers experienced suffering for about two hours due to the derailment.
