Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Sadar and Dewanganj upazilas in Jamalpur today.

In Jamalpur Sadar, a speeding truck hit a battery-run- auto-rickshaw at Shahapur bypass intersection around 8:30am, killing the driver of the auto-rickshaw on the spot, said Abu Faisal Md Atiq, officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station.

The deceased is Shamim Mia, 44, of Harindhara village of Sherpur Sadar upazila.

In Dewanganj, a woman was killed after a tractor hit a motorcycle she and her husband were on in the Hatibhanga Chakpara area around 9:00am, said Obaidul Haque, in-charge of Taratia Police Investigation Centre.

The deceased is Rina Begum, 40, of Uttar Moamari Beparipara village of the upazila, he added.
