No more office-to-office hassle: Land minister says govt planning one-stop service centres
Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu today said the government is moving to introduce one-stop service centres across the country to reduce public suffering by addressing long-standing complexities and irregularities in land-related services.
The initiative, he said, is being planned following models used in developed countries.
“The core objective of modernising the land ministry is to ensure hassle-free services for ordinary people. For years, citizens have had to move from one office to another at different stages of land-related processes, often facing harassment and unnecessary delays,” he told reporters at a community centre in Rajshahi city around noon.
Minu explained that once the proposed one-stop service centres are launched, service seekers will no longer need to visit multiple offices.
“Anyone facing a land-related problem will be able to come directly to the centre to file an application or complaint, and the necessary official procedures will be completed from there,” he said.
The minister acknowledged that amendments are needed in some areas to make laws more time-appropriate and streamline operations of land ministry.
“Necessary amendments would be placed before the national parliament in the form of proposals,” he said.
