A clutch to match
BLING ALL THE WAY
A metallic, or shiny fabric based clutch adds to the bling in your ensemble; a faux bling is perhaps what you should go for. A heavily embroidered or stone studded fabric clutch complementing your wedding dress is the way to go.
STYLE IT UP
Of all the styles, there are but a few that grace the occasion to perfection. A minaudière, which is a box like clutch, is commonly found in heavy ornamental looks, and is ideal for a bride.
FUNCTIONAL AND FASHIONABLE
If you prioritise functionality along with the look, then a wristlet or a batua is better suited for you. Not only do they look good and are more spacious compared to their box-like counterpart, they feature a short strap that can be wrapped around the wrist and are inadvertently easier to carry.
OF HUES AND TEXTURES
Gold is your typical wedding colour, and will undoubtedly complement your katan sari. Carrying a wristlet made with the same fabric as your wedding attire could be a major fashion faux pas and you will do well to completely steer clear of it.
Instead, choose from velvets, silks and jamawars, which complement your dress-up.
SHOP WISE
Clutches are abundantly available in Dhaka city. A walk around Bashundhara City mall will render you speechless at the sheer range and variety of clutches available there — you name it, they probably have it.
Another place often frequented by brides-to-be, is a store called Shimmer in Banani. They house a chic variety of clutches, from box types to lantern batuas, in rich fabrics with exquisite designs in zardozi, and even Swarovski.
If bling is not your thing, head to Cats Eye for a trendier variety of clutches which are simple, yet elegant, in understated metallic hues.
Traditional does not get trendier like Aarong, our go-to place for all things Bangladeshi. Aarong has an interesting range of clutches and purses, which span from being quirky to being classy and very easy on the eye.
A bride is undoubtedly the show stopper of any wedding, so make sure your wedding trousseau consists of some covetable clutches because there is no such thing as too many wedding accessories!
