Chattogram airport terminal driveway closed to non-passengers

Entry of all types of vehicles and visitors, except passengers, has been completely prohibited at the terminal driveway of Chattogram airport until further notice.

Authorities at Shah Amanat International Airport made the decision considering the overall security situation in the country ahead of the national election, to ensure security at the airport as a key point installation (KPI).

The decision was taken unanimously at the monthly coordination meeting of the security committee of the airport, said a press release.

All passenger-carrying vehicles arriving at the airport have been requested to enter directly into the main parking or cargo parking area for passenger pick-up and drop-off.

Collection of parking tolls from vehicles entering the main parking area solely for the purpose of dropping off passengers has been completely prohibited until further instructions.

Very important persons (VIP) of the state who are entitled to use the airport's VIP lounge, along with their family members, will be allowed to enter the facility during arrival and departure as passengers for completing necessary protocol formalities.

In such cases, a maximum of one authorised person will be permitted to enter upon displaying a designated protocol pass.
