Trailer of 'Dear Satyajit' out, paying tribute to Ray
On the legendary filmmaker's 31st death anniversary, Proshoon Rahman's tribute film to Ray, has finally released it's trailer. Titled "Dear Satyajit (Priyo Satyajit)", the film has been produced by Imation Creator, Bangladesh.
The trailer of the film starts with a young filmmaker (Moutushi Biswas) narrating quotations from Satyajit Ray's book. She wants to make a documentary on an elderly filmmaker, Asif ( Ahmed Rubel), who has been influenced by Satyajit Ray throughout his life.
"Dear Satyajit" takes an effort to tell the unfulfilled dream of a Bengali filmmaker who constantly tried to reach the artistic quality and standard of his idol, which eventually becomes a tribute to the Master Filmmaker itself, commemorating his birth centenary celebration.
The film made its international premiere at the South Asian Film Festival in Vancouver, Canada, around November 2022. The film was also screened at the Florence International Film Festival in Italy and the Kerala International Film Festival in India. Actor Ahmed Rubel has collected accolades for his performance in the film, along with awards for cinematography and direction.
The film also casts Sangeeta Chowdhury,Sayed Babu, Labonno Chowdhury, Pankaj Majumder and more.
