Puja celebrations in villages are special: Moutushi Biswas

Noted actress Moutushi Biswas is geared up to appear in her new avatar 'Apu' in Proshoon Rahmaan's upcoming project, "Dear Satyajit". The film has already been screened last year at multiple international film festivals including the South Asian Film Festival in Canada, the Florence International Film Festival in Italy, and the Kerala International Film Festival in India.

Moutushi has carved her place in the Bangladeshi entertainment industry with her remarkable performance in multiple films and television series. Many fans still remember her acting in "Krishnopokkho" and "Bachelor".

The actress is currently in her father's house at Khulna and plans to celebrate her Durga Puja vacation there, regarding which Moutushi shared, "Durga Puja is the most special festival for me. I come to Khulna every year and celebrate it with my relatives here. This time, my mother-in-law is also here with me which really makes this puja even more special to me."

Remembering her precious memories in Khulna, she further stated, "My father's house is in Khulna's Terokhada area and I have various memories associated with this place. I plan to stay here for a few days to visit the most beautiful locations with my mother-in-law."

Moutushi plans to also visit Khulna City and tour the Sundarbans with her mother-in-law.

The "Bou Dairies" actress has already begun enjoying the puja festivities in Khulna, adding, "I have experienced many puja celebrations in cities. However, the celebration in the villages still remains a more unique experience. I am delighted by the hospitality and love everyone gives me here. There are no complexities in the hearts and the love of the people here."

Moutushi is fond of a temple near her Khulna home and she spends every day joyfully watching the ongoing puja preparations from her house, she elaborated, "The puja celebration here feels like a true festival – everyone dresses up beautifully and even visits other villages to share their joy."

The actress spent a large portion of her childhood in Chattogram. Sharing a bit about her childhood puja experience, the star said, "Back then I was so happy about not having to go to school during puja vacations. I would just roam around the neighbourhood and visit everyone in my locality. I often recall those beautiful days even now."

Moutushi's upcoming film "Dear Satyajit" is based on the life of the legendary director Satyajit Ray and serves as a tribute to him. Fans will get to see Moutushi as a documentary filmmaker named Apu.

"Dear Satyajit" makes an effort to show the unfulfilled dream of a Bengali filmmaker who constantly tried to reach the artistic quality and standard of his idol, which eventually becomes a tribute to the master filmmaker himself – commemorating his birth centenary celebration.

"I feel honoured to be able to act in a story based on such a legendary persona," concluded Moutushi Biswas.
