‘They Call Him OG’ smashes Box Office records, surpasses ‘Pushpa 2’ in opening run

South Indian cinema has a new storm at the box office. Power star Pawan Kalyan's latest action film "They Call Him OG" has taken theaters by storm, breaking records within days of release. According to Hindustan Times, the film has grossed Rs 154 crore worldwide in just two days, overtaking the much-anticipated "Pushpa 2: The Rule" in premiere earnings.

Directed by Sujeeth, OG entered the Rs 100 crore club within its first 48 hours, becoming the fastest film of Pawan Kalyan's career to do so. On Wednesday's premiere shows alone, the film collected Rs 21 crore, followed by a staggering Rs 63.75 crore on Thursday. Friday saw earnings of Rs 19.25 crore, bringing its India total to Rs 104 crore. Overseas markets contributed an additional Rs 54 crore, pushing the global tally to Rs 154 crore.

The film revolves around the rise of gangster Ojas Gambheera, portrayed with Pawan Kalyan's signature powerful screen presence. Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi makes his Telugu debut in the menacing role of gangster Omi Bhau. Actress Priyanka Mohan also plays a pivotal role.

Shot across multiple languages of South India, "They Call Him OG" has also been released in Hindi, expanding its audience reach across the country.

The hype around the film was evident even before release, with record-breaking advance bookings. With its phenomenal start, "OG" has already set a new benchmark for South Indian blockbusters and is expected to continue its dominance in the coming weeks.
