‘Russell er Jonno Opekkha’ will be one of my best works: Ferdous

Over the years, Ferdous Ahmed has captivated the hearts of the audience with his charisma. He has left an impression on the film industry with hit films like "Ek Cup Cha" and "Hothat Bristi".

In an interview with The Daily Star, Ferdous shared his recent ventures.

Recently, he completed the shooting of a new government-granted film "Russeller Jonno Opekkha", in Dhanmondi 32. The film is directed by Noor-e-Alam.

In this film, he portrayed the role of colonel Khondkar Nazmul Huda, who was in charge of the security of Sheikh Russell, son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"This is my first time shooting at a location, which bears the memories of Bangabandhu," said Ferdous.

"After going to his residence, I realized that even after being such a great leader, he lived a very simple life. During the shooting, I felt like I relived those moments again," he added.

Ferdous also said that the next generation will get to know some unknown facts about Sheikh Russell, through this film.

"I became emotional I thought about Sheikh Russell. It will surely be my one of the best works," said Ferdous.

Meanwhile, Ferdous is pairing up with Dhallywood actress Nipun in "Sujon Majhi." The shooting of the film is currently underway.

Ferdous has also finished the shooting of two films "Manik er Lal Kakra", directed by Afzal Hossain and "Dampara", directed by Shuddhoman Chaitnya.

Based on real events, "Dampara" tells the story of the heroic role of Shamsul Haque, a police superintendent, and his officers at Dampara Police Lines in Chattogram, during the Liberation War period.

Ferdous played the character of Shamsul Haque in this film. "This character added extra value to my acting career," said Ferdous. "At this point of my career, I don't want to confine myself to traditional characters. Rather I want to do more unique films so that I can live in the hearts of people through my work."
