‘Yes, we have separated,’ says singer Salma

Popular singer Salma got married in a family ceremony in 2018. Her husband's name is Sanaullah Nur Sagar, who is a lawyer by profession. Seven years into the marriage, news of their separation emerged at the end of the year.

Moushumi Akhter Salma told The Daily Star, "Yes, we have separated. Our marriage was dissolved on November 29. I do not want to say anything more about this. I now want to distance myself from everything and focus only on music. I do not want to think about these matters. I want to sing good songs."

In a Facebook status, Sanaullah Nur Sagar wrote, "I have brought my married life with singer Salma to an end. We have separated. Differences in opinion, thoughts, and a distance in mentality were the reasons for our separation. Maintaining mutual respect and dignity, we have concluded our marital life. I hope everyone will refrain from making negative comments about this matter."

Singer Salma is the winner of the second season of the competition "Closeup One—Tomakei Khujchhe Bangladesh". Since then, she has remained regularly involved with music. In 2011, she first married Shibli Sadiq through a family arrangement. That marriage ended in separation in 2016.
