Indian entertainment company Eros International has announced a major content slate that includes sequel plans for several popular Bollywood films, including “Tere Naam” and “Rangeela”.

The announcement was made during London Tech Week as part of the company’s new Eros Universe initiative, which aims to expand well-known film properties into new franchise stories featuring fresh characters and narratives.

The upcoming slate includes “Tanu Weds Manu – The Next Chapter”, “Phobia”, “English Vinglish”, “Desi Boyz”, “Rangeela” and “Tere Naam”.

While sequels to “Rangeela” and “Tere Naam” are officially in development, the company has not indicated whether the original stars will return. As a result, Salman Khan is unlikely to reprise his iconic role as Radhe in a follow-up to “Tere Naam”, while there is no confirmation that Aamir Khan or Urmila Matondkar will be involved in a new version of “Rangeela”.

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, “Rangeela” became one of the defining musical hits of the 1990s and played a major role in establishing Urmila Matondkar as a leading Bollywood star. Meanwhile, “Tere Naam”, directed by the late Satish Kaushik, remains one of the most acclaimed performances of Salman Khan’s career.

Among the announced projects, “Tanu Weds Manu – The Next Chapter” has generated particular curiosity. The first two films starred Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan, though it remains unclear whether either actor will return for the new instalment.

The project will be directed by Mitakshara Kumar and is expected to begin production in 2026.

The company also announced Eros Brahmand, a mythology-inspired cinematic universe comprising nine original titles, including “Nandi – War of Kailasa”, “Dwaarka: Gateway to the Universe”, “Vimaan Wars” and “Mahabharat 5000 AD”.

In addition, Eros introduced Eros Remastered, a restoration initiative that will begin with “Kochadaiiyaan”, the motion-capture film starring Rajinikanth. The restoration project will be overseen by Soundarya Rajinikanth.

Commenting on the announcement, Eros founder and chairman Kishore Lulla said the company aims to unite mythology-inspired stories, beloved film properties and classic cinema under a single creative vision.
