BTS has a worldwide fan base. While numerous adore them, there are some who criticise them. They frequently fall victims of hate crimes and as a result, their families often suffer the most.

BTS's agency, BigHit Music, has taken legal action against those who have repeatedly sent mails and packages to the artistes' residences, even causing harm to their families.

Taking to Weverse on Wednesday, they announced that they have filed criminal complaints against the perpetrators. The court has issued an interim restraining order, and an investigation is underway to identify the offenders.

"Our organisation often starts legal proceedings against perpetrators of hostile BTS-related activities, such as defamation, personal attacks, sexual harassment, the dissemination of false information, and malicious criticism. We'd like to give you an update on these vital initiatives. During this quarter, we filed many criminal charges with law enforcement agencies based on information given by our followers and obtained through our own surveillance of conduct, infringing on the rights of artistes, including defamation," read BigHit music statement.

"In particular, we gathered ongoing evidence regarding individuals who repeatedly sent mails and packages to the artistes' residences, even causing harm to the artistes' families, and filed criminal complaints against them on charges of violating stalking laws (Act on Punishment of Crime of Stalking)," it added.

"The court has imposed an interim restraining order, and an inquiry by the prosecutor is proceeding. We remain dedicated to an unwavering, zero-tolerance approach in handling stalker acts that violate our artistes' privacy and safety," continued in the post.

"Furthermore, amongst the defendants in this round of legal actions was an individual who posted violent and offensive abusive comments on portal site news sections on a regular basis. This person was involved in dozens of incidences of high-intensity nasty comments across multiple articles. We have compiled all verified comments and filed criminal complaints against this individual," concluded the post.
