BSF kills Bangladeshi on Naogaon border
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Bangladeshi cattle trader near Sapahar border in Naogaon this morning.
The deceased was identified as Ziaul Islam, 35, from Dakhhin Patari village in the upazila, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent.
BSF men of Rangamati camp in Malda of West Bengal opened fire when Ziaul was trying to cut the barbed fence to return home around 5:30am on Adatala border, some 300 yards inside in Indian territory, said Lt Col Rafiqul Hasan, commanding officer of Potnitala 14 BGB Battalion.
He died on the spot, the BGB office said adding that Ziaul went to Indian territorry through the border and was returning to Bangladesh along with cattle on early Monday.
BSF members took away the body immediately after the incident.
BGB strongly protested the killing and asked its Indian counterpart to return the body, he added.
