Police seized 1 kilogramme of cocaine and arrested two persons for carrying those in Ashulia, on the outskirts of Dhaka, last night.
The arrestees are Sirajul Islam, 40, of Tangail and Shafiqul Islam, 28 of Gazipur.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. A team of Ashulia Police Station arrested them along with a leather bag full of cocaine in front of Hashem Plaza around 8:00pm yesterday, said Nazmul Hassan, assistant superintendent of police (Savar Circle).
Earlier, customs intelligence had detected cocaine in a liquid substance inside a barrel that weighed 185 kg, which was imported from Bolivia along with 106 other barrels on May 12.
