Tahsan Khan, a prominent Bangladeshi singer and actor, has always been known for being discreet about his personal life. When a photo of him with New York-based makeup artiste Roza Ahmed surfaced on social media late Friday night, it sparked a frenzy few were prepared for. Was the beloved star getting married? And if so, why the secrecy?

The image, showing Tahsan and Roza at what appeared to be a traditional 'gaye holud' ceremony, quickly went viral, sending fans into a tailspin of speculation and felicitations. Yet, when a journalist from Prothom Alo contacted Tahsan on Friday night for confirmation, his reply was cryptic, "I will let you know tomorrow." Even as the internet buzzed with rumours, the singer remained silent, leaving everyone guessing.

By Saturday morning, the excitement had only grown. When he was again asked if congratulations were in order, Tahsan hesitated before offering a subdued, "Yes, you can congratulate me." But then, in typical Tahsan fashion, he revealed that while the 'gaye holud' had indeed taken place, the official wedding was yet to come. It wasn't until later that evening that the singer finally confirmed the big news: He and Roza were married.

"We had our wedding today (Saturday) with our families," Tahsan told Prothom Alo. "I wanted to wait until everything was official before sharing the news. We have completed the wedding ceremony, and now we ask for your prayers as we start this new journey together."

By then, Tahsan had already taken to social media, posting a photo with Roza and dedicating a poetic tribute to her. "On a day of leisure, as my fingers dance across the keys/ Swaying to the melody, a vision of you I seize/ Whose enchanting rhythm will fill my life's every part/ In the soothing steam of tea, forever you'll be in my heart", the lyrics roughly translate to this soulful ballad. The heartfelt post garnered over 550,000 reactions in just an hour, with over 85,000 comments from fans wishing the newlyweds well.

Tahsan's relationship with Roza, a bridal makeup artiste with her own thriving business in New York, had been kept largely out of the public eye. "We met quite a few years ago, and we've been in touch ever since," Tahsan shared. "Last year, we decided to get married."

Roza Ahmed, originally from Barisal, has been living in the US for over three years, where she runs Roza's Bridal Makeover in Queens, New York. A skilled entrepreneur and beauty expert, Roza is known for her work in bridal makeup and plans to conduct a two-day masterclass in Bangladesh next month. Although she has built a successful career in the US, Roza has expressed her desire to also work in Bangladesh.

Tahsan, meanwhile, has spent much of the past few years travelling between the US and Bangladesh. Most recently, he filmed a music video for his song "Bhule Jabo" in Hollywood and is currently working on 12 more tracks.

The wedding has reignited public interest in Tahsan's personal life, which otherwise remains private. His previous marriage to actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila, with whom he shares a daughter, ended in divorce in 2017.

Tahsan and Mithila jointly announced their separation on Facebook, and though the news was met with shock, fans have remained supportive of the singer as he navigated the next chapters of his life. Mithila has since remarried Indian filmmaker Srijit Mukherji.
