‘Immediate action if polls code violated’

Election Commissioner M Shah Newaz today once again warned of actions if someone violates the electoral code of conducts.

Talking to reporters at his Election Commission Secretariat office this afternoon, the election commissioner said, “Whoever the conduct [electoral code of conducts] violators are, whether lawmakers or general people, actions will be taken against them immediately.”

Earlier on December 20, M Shah Newaz told reporters that the returning officers were directed to take necessary actions if someone violates the electoral code of conducts. He also urged the prime minister to look into the issue.
