A day into the deaths of 27 people in stampede during distribution of Zakat in Mymensingh, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police today made it mandatory to seek its permission for arranging any event to distribute zakat.
DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said this after distributing clothes among poor people at Paltan Community Centre in Dhaka this morning.

In a jostle for zakat clothes, 23 women and four children got trampled to death in Mymensingh town early yesterday.
