Banglalink’s subscriber base hits 4-crore mark
Banglalink, one of the leading digital communications service providers in Bangladesh, has touched the milestone of four crore subscribers.
It crossed the prestigious figure after acquiring 3.3 lakh new subscribers in January 2023, said the mobile telecom operator in a press release today.
With the newly acquired customers, Banglalink's subscriber base stood at around 4.14 crore at the end of the month.
The milestone was celebrated at the secretariat in Dhaka today in the presence of Mustafa Jabbar, posts and telecommunications minister, Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division, and Erik Aas, chief executive officer of Banglalink, said the press release.
The achievement came as a result of Banglalink's drive for nationwide network expansion and consistent technological advancement.
Banglalink expanded its network coverage by around 40 per cent last year, increasing its total sites to more than 14,500, which contributed to its emergence as a truly national operator.
In the press release, Mustafa Jabbar said, "Our telecom industry is a key driving force behind Bangladesh's technological progress. As one of the leading telecom operators, Banglalink has played a pivotal role in this advancement."
"I believe that Banglalink will achieve more success in the days to come along with contributing relentlessly to the building of a Smart Bangladesh."
Erik Aas said, "Banglalink's acquisition of 4 crore subscribers marks the beginning of another glorious chapter in our growth journey."
"Banglalink aspires to move forward as a digital operator taking inspiration from this achievement to bring impactful changes in the lives of more subscribers."
