SEU, British Council partner on language teaching and assessment
Southeast University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the British Council to strengthen academic collaboration and enhance initiatives in English language education and assessment.
The MoU was signed on January 22, 2026, at the university campus, in the presence of senior officials from both institutions, says a press release.
Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University, and Maxim Raimann, Country Exams Director of the British Council, expressed optimism about the scope and sustainability of the partnership.
The ceremony was attended by Professor Dr. M. Mofazzal Hossain, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University; Maj Gen Md Anwarul Islam, SUP, ndu, psc (Retd.), Registrar of SEU; Professor Dr. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Dean of the School of Law and the School of Arts and Social Sciences; Dr. Zaheed Alam Munna, Chairman of the Department of English; and Dr. Muhammad Tofazzel Hossain, Convener of the MoU Committee, along with faculty members and university officials.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will work together to promote excellence in English language teaching and learning, professional development, assessment support, and capacity-building programmes for students and faculty members.
The university said the collaboration reflects its commitment to academic quality, international engagement, and alignment with global standards in higher education.
