NDUB marks Teachers’ Day with celebration of gratitude and reflection

Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) celebrated Teachers' Day 2025 with a programme honouring its educators under the theme "Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession."

The event began with a candle-lighting ceremony led by Dr. Fr. Charles B. Gordon, CSC, Pro-Vice Chancellor of NDUB, joined by department heads and students. The occasion featured musical and cultural performances by members of the university's Cultural Club, setting a tone of gratitude and celebration.

Teachers were presented with flowers, cards, and badges by Dr. Fr. Charles B. Gordon, CSC, Dr. Fr. Subash Adam Pereira, CSC, Treasurer, and Dr. Bro. Subal Lawrence Rozario, CSC, Registrar.

In his address, Fr. Charles described teachers as "beacons of discipline, values, and knowledge," adding that a teacher's conduct serves as a lasting model for students. Fr. Adam reflected on the traditional Guru-Shishya bond, emphasising the role of teachers in shaping intellect, character, and spirit.

Faculty member Tasnuva Sharmin Tushi, Associate Professor in the Department of Law, shared reflections from a teacher's perspective, while student representative Tasnim Rashid expressed gratitude on behalf of the student body.

A short audiovisual presentation prepared by NDUB's Public Relations Office highlighted memorable moments between teachers and students. The celebration also featured a group performance of "Mongol Deep Jele" and a drama staged by members of the NDUB Drama and Film Club.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Bro. Subal, closing the day in a spirit of unity, joy, and appreciation.
