Largest earthquakes in 115 years

Here is a list of the largest earthquakes around the world since the 1900’s according to their intensity on the Richter scale and casualties. The Daily Star has put together the list according to information sourced from the US Geological Survey.

The highest casualties of 286,000 were in the Earthquake of 26th December, 2004 that also triggered a Tsunami originating in Northern Sumatra, Indonesia.
