Ceiling plaster fall at Jhenaidah health complex: Patient among 3 injured

Three people including a patient were injured as chunks of ceiling plaster fell on them at Kaliganj Local Health Complex in Jhenaidah yesterday (November 9, 2022).

The injured are Monowara Khatun, her daughter Sumi Khatun and Fuljan Begum of Kaliganj upazila. Of them, Sumi who suffered serious injuries, has been referred to Jashore Sadar Hospital, our local correspondent reports.

The hospital's Resident Medical Officer Dr Mazharul Islam confirmed the incident.

He said the main building was built by the Directorate of Public Health Engineering in 1963. Plasters are falling off from different parts of the building even though repairs were made a few months ago.

The matter has been reported to higher authorities, he added.
