Eight years after their re-affiliation, Dhaka University and its seven affiliated colleges have decided to sever ties.

"If our demands are not met by 4:00pm, we will announce a tougher course of action"

The college students began protesting in the evening and it soon led to a stand-off between them and DU students late into the night
