Finally, after over seven years of toiling exercise of preparatory work, construction of the much-talked about 47-km Dhaka Elevated Expressway commenced formally on April 1, 2018.

With a population of 18 million who make around 30 million daily trips in public and private transport, traffic congestion has become a part of everyday life.

The construction of the first ever elevated expressway project in Dhaka officially commenced on April1, 2018. The main objective of this project is to bypass Dhaka vertically in the fastest possible way, which would significantly reduce the traffic load inside the capital.
