PLANET RS

Seen our new look this week? We know, the inside pages look great, thank you very much. But then we have a special cover this week, a cover where we’re lost. One that shows how we have to live with disagreements for the sake of making a living. But disagreements make people alive. The football column right below? I don’t care much for watching football, it’s just men running after an errant ball. But others will die for the game. And in the death of one of the legends of football history, we pay our respects in only the way RS can. We laugh, but respectfully because that’s the way Fergie would want it. And then there’s media, do we believe what they say? Or do we grumble and walk away? It’s the age of the internet, and anything goes. We show you how to survive this impending digital...

We learn to take the good with the bad. What other choice do we have? Do we mope or we grit our teeth and get going?  Do we give up or do we look for the silver lining? Heck, storm clouds do wash away. It’s been a long and trying week and it’s not letting up any time soon. But things do get better because we grow up being shown there’s colours amidst the grey. And let’s not forget, we salute our mothers this 12th May. They are the ones who show us we can scrape our knees but still go running cause it’s worth it. So ride through the doom and gloom. Stay calm, this too shall pass.

Shakespeare would be musing, “Two months or ten more issues, that is the question.” But Shakespeare has long since left the building and now it’s time for RS to do the same. Once again we go for a countdown. Is RS ending or not? This time around, probably, maybe most likely. How do we go about it? Tell us and make it loud. Our 22nd anniversary comes up next month.

Welcome to the green world of Konsumerland, where price tags entice and checkout counters stand tall. You decide if you want to be dragged in or not, but once you're on board, it's pretty damn hard to get off. On board entertainment includes a recap of all the major icons of film, TV, gaming and music that have touched our lives since the 60's. Sit back and enjoy.

The Bengali New Year is knocking on our door again, and this time we expect the colours to shout louder than ever before. Because when you can't actually shout, you have to find a way to do it in other ways. Some shout while playing a mind bogglingly violent game, others do it in speech giving ceremonies

Glasses have been a part of my life for a very long time, and I think I speak for most people when I say that glasses are very hard to get away from if you've worn them for extended periods of time. Like an institutionalised inmate who doesn't know how to live life on the outside anymore. Long live the four eyed and the intelligent (conditions apply).

What's their left to say about a band that's inspired us for two generations? There's hope to be gleaned from the fact that so many of us listen to Pink Floyd and are enthralled by them, maybe we'll carry their music on with us and hand it down to the next ones in line so that the legacy of good music never dies. Forever Floyd.

Apparently, young people don't want to read about politics. We'd rather be photoshopping our faces on to the moon and not do a very good job at that. But the saying's been proved wrong and we are all conscious about what's going on around us now. So, here's to speaking out and being heard. And to better photoshop skills.
