India, Pakistan meet again on cricket field

After the on-field and off-field developments involving India and Pakistan overshadowed the Asia Cup cricket tournament in Dubai, the women's teams of the two arch rivals will square up next Sunday (October 5) in Colombo in a group stage match of the ICC Women's World Cup.
Will there be reenactment of the Dubai drama at the R Premadasa Stadium in the Sri Lankan capital? Well, the fingers are crossed as of now. India and Sri Lanka are co-hosts of the women's World Cup.

The last head-to-head clash between the women's teams of India and Pakistan had taken place in the 2021 Women's World Cup when India beat Pakistan by 102 runs.
India will be playing against Pakistan in Colombo as part of a deal between PCB and BCCI under which neither team will play against the other in either India or Pakistan, as all their matches will be played at a neutral venue.
