Tigress spinners bundle out Ireland for 185
Bangladesh women's team spinners claimed all 10 wickets to bundle out their Irish counterparts for 185 in the third WODI, setting up a 186-run target to complete a 3-0 sweep over the visitors at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka today.
Leg-spinner Fahima Khatun took three wickets while off-spinners Sultana Khatun and Nahida Akter claimed a couple of wickets each in another good showing from the bowling attack.
Irish skipper Gaby Lewis made 52 off 79 balls and Orla Predergast and Amy Hunter chipped in with 27 and 23 respectively but the rest of the batters didn't contribute much after they chose to bat first.
Ireland looked on course to breach the 200-run mark for the first time in the series, reaching 121-4 in 33 overs before Shorna Akter and Sultana struck in consecutive overs to reduce them to 123-6.
Late-order batters Arlene Kelly (18), Alana Dalzell (19) and Cara Murray (13) pushed the total beyond the 180 mark. Fahima claimed the final Irish wicket of Aimee Maguire (three) in the last ball of the innings.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the first two matches to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
