Legends climb to the top of DPL with 10-wicket win

Rejaur Rahman Raja and Tanvir Islam of Legends of Rupganj decimated Shinepukur Cricket Club in a show of dominance at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday with a 10-wicket win that saw the team climb to the top of the Dhaka Premier League standings.

Shinepukur posted 28 runs for the first wicket but were bowled out for 69 in the 26th over as spinner Tanvir took three for 15 in seven overs while pacer Raja took three wickets too.

In reply, Rupganj openers finished off the task in 10 overs, with Tanzid Tamim scoring a 20-ball 30 and Saif Hassan managing 39 off 37 deliveries.

At BKSP-4, Gazi Group beat Dhanmondi Sports Club by 175 runs in another game lacking competitiveness. Sent in to bat, Gazi reached 298 for seven, thanks to half-centuries from Anamul Haque and Shamsur Rahman while Tofael Ahmed played a cameo of 20-ball 33. In reply, Dhanmondi were bowled out for just 123, with Nurul Hasan Sohan scoring a team-high 33. Wasi Siddique bagged three wickets for Gazi.

Agrani Bank picked up a six-wicket win against Gulshan Club at BKSP-3, courtesy of Imranuzzaman's 75 and Amite Hasan's 63. Earlier, Liton Das struck a 62-ball 60 to help Gulshan to 222 all out.
