Bangladeshi student wins gold at international climate change olympiad in Russia

Taseen Mohammad, a student of BIAM Model School & College, Dhaka, has won a gold medal at the International Olympiad on Climate Change and Environmental Issues (IOCE) 2025.
Taseen was a part of a four-member student team—consisting of him, Mahdi Bin Ferdaus, from Vashantek Government College; Md Nur Ahmad from Rajshahi Collegiate School; and Md Ashikur Rahman from Harimohan Government High School, led by Farhan Masud, a student at BRAC University—that won the "Outstanding Presentation Award" at the olympiad.

IOCE 2025 took place in Russia from September 13 to 20. The olympiad was an international interdisciplinary scientific competition that aimed to attract the attention of young people to various environmental issues and encourage them to solve them. Its goal was to improve environmental literacy among participants and develop their creative and scientific potential.
